The ORCA truck has been successfully tested in the Vehicle Feature Lab at Volvo.

From the 19th of April to the 3rd of May, the Volvo engineers have been busy setting up, installing, calibrating  and testing the ORCA truck at VFL (Vehicle Feature Lab) located in Gothenburg Sweden in Volvo premises. The goal of the test was to generate sufficient data to be able to correlate the complete vehicle models generated in WP2. Two main types of testing were performed: static load testing, where different operating points (torque, speed and gear) were set and the dynamometer forces were measured; and dynamic testing, where by ran different cycles with different loads.

The next step will be to calibrate/correlate the simulations models with this data so it is possible to have a better confidence of the virtual concept assessment carried out in WP5.
